There are categories for boys and girls in each age group, with prizes/trophies for 1st and 2nd in each age category.

Awards for All lottery grant, Nov 2006

The junior badminton clubs have been awarded a lottery grant of 5399. This is a fantastic boost to our clubs and will help to place coaches on courses, buy equipment and re-develop this web site, as well as a few other things. This was a result of several months of behind the scene effort, and reflects the ongoing popularity and success of our junior clubs.

March 2006:

Silver Clubmark accreditation, 22 March 2006

Our South Birmingham Junior Badminton Club and Junior colts club were awarded the Silver Clubmark Accreditation in March, and this is a fantastic achievement. There are very few badminton clubs in the Birmingham area with this award, let alone in England as a whole. We have had to meet a lot of criteria to attain this status: ensuring coaches are qualified and CRB checked as well as placed on key courses, demonstrating we are developing badminton in the community, investing in the children and club members, linking with parents, schools, Birmingham Sport, Badminton England and other institutions, as well as a host of other things. This is recognition and reward for the hard work going on behind the scenes.

January 2006: New after school junior club, January 2006

This is a project set up in conjunction with Colmers School, to meet the demand for more junior badminton at Colmers. The after school club runs every Tuesday 3.30-5pm during school term. It is mainly for Colmers children (although may well be extended to other schools in the area as part of Colmers Sports College status), and predominantly aged 13-14 years. Allan Ho is the main coach for this club.

April 2005:

Lee pleased as punch !

Lee Machin and Darren Cahill won the annual Colmers Farm St. Georges trophy for 2005, picture left shows Lee receiving the trophy from Phil Darlow, club coach. This is the third time Lee has won this prestigious club trophy, and clearly a reflection of the quality of his partner each time !
September 2004:

Sam Roberts remains U15's County Champion for 2004-5, beating David Farebrother in the final. Sam also won the doubles with Richard Sham, also a member at Colmers Farm. They beat Richard Bowater and Pavinda Poonian. Sam has been a member of the Sunday junior club since the age of 8, progressing to the Thursday colts at the age of 12, and has been a full time member of the adults since the age of 13. He can beat many of the adults ! Winning this championship reflects his dedication and enthusiasm, it is a great boost for Colmers Farm B.C, and hopefully testimony to some of the coaching he's received. Congratulations once again !

June 2004:

The Cradley mens team win Division 4 in the 2003-4 season. The team consisted of our county juniors or 'colts', and won the achievement award for their efforts, being the only 'junior' team in the division.. Click here to see some photos of the Cradley presentation evening, held on June 19th 2004. A few other club members went along, not only to see the presentations but also to meet Simon Archer, our local Worcestershire hero ...............!
