Adults - Visitors

Colmers Farm Badminton Club (CFBC) re-located to Turves Green leisure centre, Northfield, B31 4BS

on Monday 13th May 2013, having previously been based at Colmers leisure centre, Rubery since 1987.

We welcome visitors to come along to our Monday club night. This gives visitors the opportunity to play

competitive badminton, find out about all aspects of the club and have a ‘taster’ before committing to

becoming a full member.

We are a competitive club, playing league standard badminton, yet being friendly and sociable.

Each season the club fields several teams in the local leagues, including mixed and mens.

Home matches are played at Turves Green on Sunday's, with a handful of fixtures on our Monday club night.

On the social side we have organised events, which have included Ten-Pin Bowling, Quiz Nights, Golf Days,

meals and other organised nights out.

Our club night is every Monday 8-10pm, we have 4 courts available for adult players. Membership fees

are paid quarterly and there is a charge of £4.00 per week for non-members and visitors. For potential new

members there is usually a short trial period of 3 weeks to ascertain suitability. We are interested in league

standard players, but we are also interested in the less experienced player who shows potential.

Club coaches are available on club nights for advice and help. They can also put together personalised

training plans for those keen to improve their game. Occasional workshops are held on club nights covering

various aspects of the game. These are free to club members.

CFBC also has a small junior Colts section for the older juniors, usually from the age of 13 or 14 upwards,

and some of these are county players. These juniors receive coaching on a club night. They also take the

opportunity of playing with the adults for the first hour on a club night to help improve their game and increase

their experience. It is important for the future sustainability of the club that adult members accept these

youngsters on club nights, it is a key element in the future development and success of the club.

If you would like further information about any aspect of the club please drop Lee Machin an e-mail.
